What the shop keeps
Silver
ಬೆಳ್ಳಿAnklets, toe rings, pooja articles, daily wear.
Anklets and toe rings for a new bride, a lamp or a kumkuma holder for the pooja shelf, a small chain for a child’s naming day — silver for the days a family marks and the days it does not.
Every piece is weighed in front of you, on the counter scale, before anything is said about price. The weight is the number that matters in silver — ask for it, and ask what the finish is.
What to ask at the counter
- The weight, on the scale, before the rate
- Whether a piece is made in the workshop or bought in
- What the finish is, and how it will look after a year of wear
- Whether a bigger or smaller size of the same design can be made
Pieces with photographs are in the catalogue. What is in the shop is always more than what is photographed — if you have seen something elsewhere, bring the picture in and ask.
